Nir – Gong
We did not study together, we did not live next to one another and without the army we would probably have never meet, but I thank destiny for having made our roads cross and giving me the opportunity to get to know you although it was only for one year.
During the last year in spite of the age difference that existed we managed to communicate quickly and Nir you turned from just a soldier for me – into a friend and later into a brother- a little brother.
A month has gone by from that horrible night that Rochman told me about your death. A month has gone by and still none of us understand that we will never see you again, that you will never tell us about your crazy weekends about your boyfriends and especially your girlfriends, that we will never see that smile of yours nor hear your laughter.
During the last few months you went through an uneasy period. Army doctors, committees, all of which did not make your life easy.
I tried to be there for you and help, but unfortunately I did not always succeed – but I tried kid- I really tried feeling I was helping my little brother but on that horrible night nobody could help you.
In the last month we got to know parts of you we did not know: Your wonderful family your civilian friends we heard stories and experiences and we all feel you could not have lived your 19 years of life in a better way – as if you knew.
Nir today we say our goodbye and swear never to forget and ask you up there to give us all the strength to keep on living the way you would have wanted us to live.
Laughing with happiness.
Dear Landesman family, destiny has thrown us together and we all promise you to be with you – forever.
Nir we love you and miss you terribly- all your combat unit.
Your memory is blessed.
